Music Search Tips

Title Search

Title searches will search for matching keywords in a CD's title. If you use more than one keyword, our search engine will restrict the results to titles that each match all the keywords you enter. If no keyword matches are found then our search engine will return title's matching any of the specified keywords in order or relevance. Here are some examples using Title Search:

  • Entering "dark moon" will return all title's containing the words dark and moon; e.g. Dark Side of the Moon, Dark Moon, etc.
  • Entering "America A Tribute To Heroes" will return a single title: "America: A Tribute To Heroes"

Keyword Search

Keyword Search boxes can be found at the top of most pages. Enter one or more keywords using any combination of the artist's name or record's title. Here are some examples using Keyword Search:

  • Entering "tom petty" finds CD's by the Tom Petty
  • Entering "petty wildflowers" finds WildFlowers CD by the Tom Petty.
  • Entering "bubba" finds CD's with the word "bubba" in their title or where the artist name contains the name Bubba (e.g. Big Sounds of Bubba Brooks by the Bubba Brooks, Baby Bubba by Dru Down, etc.).

Artist Search

Our Artist search allows you to enter the full or partial artist's name. If more than one artist matches the keywords, you will be presented with the alphabetical list of artists that meets your search criteria, click the name of the specific artist that most interests you for a list of all titles by that Artist. If only one artist matches you search criteria then all of the artist's titles will be automatically displayed.

UPC Search

Universal Product Codes (UPCs) are unique 12 digit codes used to identify a particular item and can be found on the back of the products cover. A UPC number looks like this (bar code image below). In this example the UPC number is: 042286095325 (including the smaller numbers on the left and right side of the barcode).

UPC Tips:

  • It is not necessary to include hyphens when entering a number.
  • When entering the UPC, be sure to include all 12 numbers; sometimes smaller numbers will appear on the left or right side of the main barcode number.
  • Some CDs have ISBNs; you should ignore them and only enter the UPC
* Note about UPCs: In many cases, we only have the latest UPC code of a product. Older versions/editions may have different UPCs. As a result, you may be unable to find an item by UPC, and a keyword, title or artist search should be performed instead.

Soundtrack Search

If you are interested in a particular soundtrack or musical, conduct a keyword search for the title of the movie or show.
